Author: Tyler King

Notice Text

Columbia Gulf Transmission, LLC (CGT) notifies customers of the following update regarding the Force Majeure at Red Mountain Compressor Station Units 2901 & 2902 in Louisiana. The Force Majeure was declared on October 8, 2024, due to unexpected and uncontrollable vibration readings at Units 2901 & 2902, which required an immediate reduction in run rates to maintain the safety and reliability of the Units while also maintaining a level of partial operation. The current capacity reduction through AlexSEG of 2,600,000 Dth reflects both Units operating at a reduced run rate. The work necessitated by the Force Majeure to return Unit 2901 to full operation is tentatively scheduled to occur on Tuesday, December 3, 2024. During the work, CGT currently anticipates the backhaul capacity through AlexSEG may be reduced to a level as low as 2,350,000 Dth. Once the work on Unit 2901 is complete, CGT anticipates it will be able to increase the backhaul capacity through AlexSEG to a level between 2,640,000 Dth and Total Capacity. The logistics involved with the commencement of work necessitated by the Force Majeure to return Unit 2902 to full operation is ongoing. At this time, CGT anticipates Unit 2902 will remain at a reduced run rate through December 2024. CGT will provide updates as additional information becomes available. Reservation charge credits (RCCs) will be determined per the process set forth in the General Terms and Conditions, Section 40 of CGT’s FERC Gas Tariff (“Tariff”).  However, CGT will only issue RCCs if CGT is unable to schedule or deliver primary firm nominated capacity as a result of the outage.  In the event RCCs are issued as set forth in the Tariff, shippers will receive RCCs based on its 7-day average usage quantity less any scheduled quantities on the contract. Please contact your Customer Services Representative with any questions. ***Previous Posting***
